GENERAL INFORMATION Access to the Congress Venue From the airport Transfers by public boat (Alilaguna) from/to airport directly to Molino Stucky Hilton Venice. Cost: Euro 15 per person, transfer time 1h30 min approximately. For more information and time table, please click here. Transfers from/to Tronchetto available at a cost of Euro 6.50 per person. Transfers from/to St. Marks Square available at a cost of Euro 3.00 per person. From the train station Transfers by water bus, line 41 with departure every 20 minutes. The train station is Ferrovia S. Lucia and the Hilton where FAAM takes place is Guidecca Palanca. The cost is around EUR 6.50 per person. Tickets can be bought both inside the station building at the machines at the luggage reclaim area or outside at the arrivals hall, where there will be an information desk. Geography and Weather The city of Venice is located in northern Italy and is considered to be one of the most beautiful and best preserved cities in the world. The city is unique in the fact that it is the only city in the world built on water. Venice is divided in six quarters (sestieri), Dorsoduro, San Marco, San Polo, Cannaregio, Castello och Santa Croce, all linked by a series of over 150 canals, 400 bridges and many ancient pavements.
Venice has cool winters and very warm summers. Temperatures in summer usually range between 86F to 91F (30C - 33C), dropping in winter to between 32F and 37F (0C - 3C).
Insurance The congress accepts no liability for any personal injury, loss or damage of property belonging to or additional expenses incurred by congress participants either during the congress or as result of delays, strikes or any other circumstances. Participants are advised to make their own arrangements with respect to health and travel insurance.

Public Transport The public transportation system in Venice is called Azienda Consorzio Trasporti Veneziano (ACTV). The system combines both land transportation, with buses, and canal travel, with water buses (vaporetti). There are in total 25 routes which connect the city.
